Clear Buttons

This looked so cool. They cut out a circle frame in a pattern paper. Then they put clear buttons around the entire circle. It looks pretty cool. I would probably have trouble finding the perfect size circle or buttons to make it work. It is something to keep in the back of my mind. I might be able to adapt it.

It's a birthday

Ashleigh has quite a collection of stuffed animals. Last night as I was putting her to bed, she let me know that Bear's birthday was yesterday and Waddles birthday is today. Then she explained how the animals of her room sang happy birthday to the birthday girl. Then she would sing a special song to them. I had to smile at this Ashleighism!

Buttons

I have so many buttons I need to use and thought this was an excellent idea. Cut out patterned paper in a circle a little larger than the button. Then place the button on top. Use ribbon, another item I have a ton of, to create a stem and voila you have a flower garden. Love it!

Fabric Idea

One goal with this blog is to track my ideas for future layout. I managed to find an idea book for my trip and was inspired by the few pages I was able to read (Autumn Leaves Designing with Details). They had a layout where she sewed fabric squares together to create a background. I am not talented enough to use a sewing machine but I could do the same thing with loose stitches. It would give the same feel as if I had used a machine. I have some scrap fabric my mom gives me and I bet I could find several patterns that would work. Something to consider on a page of mom and Ashleigh.

Reading my mind

So, my lovely husband just came by and I mentioned how I would send him a link to the blog. I said it might help you read my mind. He said, as long as you use the spellcheck.

My motto for 2008

I have decided my motto for the year is.....Losing weight in 2008! I am on the right track and with inspiration all around I should be able to reach my goals. I will keep you posted on my progress through out the year.

We will be looking great at the end of 08!

Home Sweet Home

I am glad to be back home after a fun filled weekend in Louisiana. It was wonderful to see my family but I am ready for my own bed. After four days with my darling daughter, I am ready to go back to work and have an adult conversation. Don't get me wrong, I love her to death but man could I use some quiet time.

The wedding was simple and sweet. I am grateful I was able to see them commit their lives to one another. It was also fun to watch everyone with their camera's taking pictures. There was constant flash bulb action and I think I have some eye damage. I am generally the one behind the camera but did not have too much camera duty for this event. I am pretty sure there are some very unflattering pictures of me though. Such is life. Hey, I am the woman who has the same pair of pajamas on in almost every picture during my daughter's first year. Won't be the last time I take a bad picture!

Later.

Never enough time in the Day!

I know it has been said before, but there is never enough time in the day. I am not complaining by any means. I live a full life. Sometimes though, I wish it would take a break for just a second so I can catch my breath. I know it is not going to happen but I will keep wishing. So the reason for my wishing is I am leaving town tomorrow and it seems there is just not enough time to get everything done. The good thing about traveling is during the drive I will have time to think about layouts. Now if I could just find those idea books I have been saving for the trip I will be in business.

Wish me luck on my hunt!

Hello!

Hello to all:

I am new to this blog thing and thought I would give it a try. Who knows where it will go but since 2008 is the year of adventure for me let's give it a whirl.

I am many things - a wife, a mother, a CPA, a black belt, a knitter. My passion however is scrapbooking. I can admit that I am addicted to the creative process of pulling various things together to express myself. Being a CPA, you would not think I had a creative bone in my body but I find that scrapbooking keeps me balanced. Not to mention, let's me spend time with my good friends. I want to try and post layouts once they are done to be able to share them with friends and family all over the US. We will see how I do in the coming months.

Have a Scrappy Day!
