Goofing Around

There is no denying it, Ashleigh has inherited her mother's silliness. Maybe she wasn't born with it, but she sure has learned it from me. We spent a few minutes this evening goofing off with the camera. I had her laughing and posing for me. I can be a total ham when a camera is around and I am sure Ashleigh will be doing the same.

Times like these she melts my heart with her laugh and restores my soul with her kisses.

Flowers in the yard

I wanted to share these beautiful pictures of some of the flowers in our yard. David has such a green thumb! I would have killed them long ago.

Father's Day Card

I made this Father's Day card on Friday. I love how it turned out. Definitely works for a biker dude. Thanks Emily for the idea to add the flames. It makes the card!!

My trainer is back

After three weeks Ambry is back. Man can I tell. We went running/jogging/fast walking last night and I gave it all I had. Needless to say, I am feeling it this morning. I ache from the knees down. I will quit whining now but not before mentioning that I went 3 minutes 21 seconds nonstop. I still have a way to go to get to 10 minutes but progress is progress.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but after a workout like last night it strangely makes me feel alive. The sweat pouring down my back, the burning from muscles which are tired and the heavy breathing all remind me that I am a vibrant woman.

Water Title

I was looking though some idea book or something and saw this title for a water page.

JUST ADD WATER

How fitting would that be for any pictures of Ashleigh playing at Hawaiian Falls? She loves that place and can't wait for them to open.

Cropping all Day

So this Friday I am taking a day off of work and cropping all day. I am so excited and wanted to post my goals so I can work on getting them done. Nothing like pressure to keep you motivated.

  1. Work on Father's Day cards
  2. finish my xmas believe board book
  3. do my xmas 2006 & 2007 pages for my xmas book
  4. do a Father's Day gift for David (maybe - not quite sure what I might do)
  5. work on pages I did not finish at retreat

That is pretty ambitious for me. I will let you know how it goes.

School pages

I found this layout at a online store called Calli & Co. I think it is a great idea to add a little punch to those posed pics.

Awesome title idea

I never would have thought to do this but I most certainly do it now. I just love it!! I just loved the large stitched title. Now I just need to figure out what pics to do it on!

More Scrap Pack

I thought about the Scrap Pack layout in the shower. I get to work and there is an email from Jenn with the same thought. I am going to turn the journaling so I can get them on a 12x12 layout. I bet with a little practice I can work it out. I might even hand journal around the photo to save space if I need it. Now for the details on the pack.

Ariane
  • i love how she can come up with catch phrases that have us laughing for months
  • i love how she does her santa pages (boot, coat, etc) even though she is not a fan of christmas
  • i love how she will see a layout in a magazine and adapt to her pics

Debbie

  • i love how she mixes her colors on her layouts. i would not think of those combos
  • i love how she alters her die cuts to add texture or flavor
  • i love how she accepts her style and makes no excuses

Emily

  • i love how she listens to my crazy talk about ideas or layouts and then offers her own inspiration
  • i love how she is willing to take pictures of all of our kids for the scrapbook
  • i love how she works with what she has to make it work

Sheri

  • i love how she makes layouts for both connor's and avery's books
  • i love how she scrapbooks with connor when he shows interest
  • i love how she works hard to get all her backlogged pages done

Scrap Pack

So I was napping on Saturday and had another layout dream. I know I have seen this idea somewhere but thought it would be great to do a Scrap Pack layout with everyone's pics and things I love about them. I drew a crude sketch but you get the idea. I would use the same colors and possibly same elements as the page we did for the retreat. It would be cool if I could make it a one page to compliment the main page. I will have to think on that. The first challenge is to take everyone's picture!

Retreats

I have not posted in several days for good reason. I was retreating my little brain out. First came the scrapbook retreat. We spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday at a wonderful place called Hobby House Hill in Bowie. We had such fun scrapping and laughing. I got 14 pages done and was pleased with them all. We had to name our group and create a 12x12 page layout. We chose the Scrap Pack and went with a Vegas theme. I think the page turned out great and will copy every detail for the page I put in my book.

Next was my work retreat. Monday and Tuesday were spent at Rough Creek Lodge in Glen Rose. We went 4-wheeling in the mud! Yes, MUD! We had such a good time we did it again Tuesday morning. We ate so much food. Every meal was a three course affair. I also learned a new domino game called Chickenfoot. I managed to win both games and got $50 in gift cards. It was nice to get to know my co-workers better and do something new. I just wish it had not been on the heels of the scrap retreat. I sure did miss Ashleigh and David a whole heck of a lot.
I have been exhausted from my 5 days of "vacation". I hope to get plenty of rest this weekend. Later

Shocking

Shocking to me anyway. Yesterday, when my trainer came over for our fast walking/jogging workout she mentioned she wanted to do one set going as long as I could. Now as most overweight people would tell you, we should not run! Period! It is not attractive or fun. But since Ambry started working me out, I have come to be more open to the possibility. She and I set a goal of my being able to run/jog/fast walk 10 minutes straight by the end of the summer. So right now I am doing 5 one minute sets and 5 30 second sets up a hill. Knowing how I feel after that I was doubtful I would go much over a minute. Well I managed to jog/walk 3 minutes straight! I was surprised and amazed. Now I am thinking that 10 minutes is achievable. I will keep you posted on my progress.
